Motorcycle Madness
You have got to watch out for motorbikes on the road because they really do play by their own set of rules, at least the majority do. These bikes will weave through traffic and even though you may have just checked your mirror, they will appear out of nowhere. Be careful when it comes to bikes because what generally happens here if there is an accident, is guilt on the behalf of the car. Whether it was your fault or not, it is most likely that it will be deemed so if you are in an incident with a bike.
Light Jumpers
I can remember when I first got here and my friend Rose Burillo told me about how many people jump red lights, I actually didn’t really believe her at first. The truth of the matter however is that there are many people who do this, especially when it is quiet. The problem however is that when the road is quiet, you are more likely to be driving a little faster, and that means a big problem should you hit someone jumping the red light. Police do very little about this which is yet another reason why you must always ensure that you are on your guard when you are driving.
Being Aggressive
Because of the sheer volume of people in this city there is very much a competition on the road, and this means that there is very little compassion shown to you. If you are trying to switch lanes and you put your directional signal on, people will not care even a little bit and you’ll be waiting a long time to get over. If however you are willing to push the nose of your car into a gap, you will give other drivers no choice but to brake and then your slot will open. This is how you have to drive here, and if you are not prepared to be this aggressive then you will struggle to get by on these streets.
Long Mistakes
In many cases if you are driving on the main roads and you miss a turn, you will have to be prepared to take some long detours in order to get back to where you were. This is a city which isn’t always designed as well as it should be, and that is why mistakes really do cost time.
