2. Business Set up

While the actual process of setting up your business doesn’t require a huge amount of time, there are quite a few things you need to think about. 

First off, decide on your business name. It needs to be unique, easy to remember and relevant to the industry you are planning to be part of. Once you’ve decided on what it will be, you would then need to register and get a business or D.B.A (doing business as) in the area you’re planning to set your business up. Ponder on whether it is best to use a space within your home as your office or to rent a commercial space. 

3. Legal Requirements

Out of all the steps that will be outlined here, this is probably the most important. If you miss any of these, it can make or break your business later on. 

• Make sure that you apply, if you still don’t have, an Employer Identification Number (EIN).
• Gather necessary tax information required for maintaining records etc. 
• Gather the necessary permits for you to run your business i.e. Sales permit, local, country or state specific business permits etc.
• It’s highly advisable for you to check out business insurance options as well.

4. Execution

Once you’ve gotten all the legal requirements out of the way, you may start putting things in motion. 

• Your internal system process will dictate how organized and efficient you’d be in operating your business. Make sure you have the right tools and applications in place to get you started. 
• A robust accounting system will get your financial issues streamlined right from the beginning. Choose and invest well. 
• Order the necessary equipment, furniture, supplies, and inventory that are necessary to get started.
