5 Things I’ve Added To My Morning Routine That Make Me Happy

When it comes to your happiness and how happy and positive you are able to be during the day, all of that in my experience comes from how I begin the day. For this reason I have tried out all kinds of activities first thing in the morning to see what worked best and I am happy to report, and share with you, 5 of the things which I have been doing that have really helped to increase my happiness and my focus levels through the day.

Stretching

As much as I love the buzz that I get from exercising first thing in the morning, I just don’t enjoy it at all, and I never go as hard as when I do exercise in the afternoon. What I have done however is to implement a mobility training routine first thing and this has helped to limber me up for the day.

Meditation

Meditation is a wonderful thing to do when you first wake up in the morning and you can use it to really settle the mind and organize your day. Meditation helps to reduce the amount of stress which you have in your life and it will enhance your ability to concentrate and to focus on what is important.

Avoid Social Media

It is no secret that social media can be harmful to our mental health which is why you must ensure that you are at your best when you do check your accounts. This is why you should always look to avoid social media when you wake up. Give it a few hours before checking in.

Write Down Positives

Many people like to write a journal first thing in the morning but this was something that I actually found quite difficult when I started to do it, as I just didn’t stick to the plan. What I changed was to remove some of the fluff from that and instead just write down 5 positives in my life, and this is something that I could certainly get behind. When you spend just a couple of minutes in the morning thinking about the positive aspects of your life, it can make a huge difference to how you feel for the rest of the day.

Fresh Air

One of the best things which I can recommend,  weather permitting of course, is that you get yourself outside and breathe in some fresh air. This is your wake-up call, this is you getting your day started and this is how you can instantly connect with nature from the moment that you wake up. If possible I would say that you could meditate outside and that will really enhance the experience. Make sure that you are taking the time to get outside and to see and feel nature when you wake up, it is going to make a huge difference to your daily happiness.
