Rainy Day Activities for Kids

April showers can bring some unhappy faces. Don’t let a little spring rain ruin your fun. Check out our suggestions for some fun indoor games for kids and other rainy day activities.

It’s raining, it’s pouring…the kids are getting restless. Rather than have them reach for the iPad again, try one of our rainy day activities ideas. From fun indoor games for kids to unique arts and crafts for kids, here’s our list of what to do when the weather is not cooperating.

Party in the Bathroom
The bathroom is the easiest room to clean in the house. Our suggestion? Take full advantage of it and let the kids loose with some shaving cream, sponges, and bath time crayons. When playtime is over, they’ll be psyched to help with cleanup—more soap and sponges!

Tape Time
It may sound simplistic, but a roll of Scotch tape will take you far when it comes to keeping the kids entertained. Kids will have a blast taping furniture to other pieces of furniture or taping some of their toys together or even making a trail down the hallway with tape. Extra bonus: it’s easy to clean up!

Dress Up
Make a game around dressing up. Have each person dress up someone else in the family and then everyone else can try and guess who you’ve chosen. Just make sure to hide your Manolos and diamonds.

Treasure Hunt
This classic game never gets old. Have your little ones dress up as pirates to really get into the game. Hide little toys or treats around the house and set them free to search. If you really want to take it to the next level, draw a map of where each treasure is hidden.

Fusilli Art
Grab some glue, a bunch of different pasta shapes, and some construction paper. To add extra color, crush up some Froot Loops or another type of colorful cereal and sprinkle it onto the glue-covered paper.
