Why Pippa Middleton Makes Flavored Vodka in the Dishwasher

Making flavored vodka from scratch has always sounded like a novel idea but let’s face it: Any recipe that takes two weeks to make ain’t gonna happen in our household. That is, until we stumbled upon Pippa Middleton’s super simple tip–use the dishwasher, people!

According to the Duchess’ younger sister in her book, Celebrate, the fastest way to speed up the infusion process is by combining vodka and your desired candy of choice in a dishwasher-safe bottle, sealing it up, and giving it a spin on the hottest cycle. Voila. What would have taken days, has now practically made itself in 20 minutes. Those clever royals. What will they think of next?

Pippa Middleton’s Toffee Vodka
Ingredients
35cl bottle vodka
50g tube smashed butter toffees

Directions
Pour a little vodka out of a 35cl bottle and then add a 50g tube of smashed butter toffees. Leave the vodka overnight, or for at least 8 hours. Speed up the process by putting the sealed bottle in the dishwasher on a hot cycle. When done, the toffees will have dissolved. Keep in the fridge and shake before serving. Try using chocolate bars such as Mars or After Eights for different flavors.
