Traveling with children of all ages can be a challenge, even for globetrotting moms. We’ve all reached for the iPad to keep the kids occupied with movies and games, allowing ourselves a few minutes to catch up on the latest news and take a breather on the plane.
Inevitably, the battery runs out, the ear buds won’t stay in or there’s an argument over which movie to watch. So I’ve learned to hold off on the electronics and opt for other activities to keep the kids busy. That way, everyone is happy for as long as possible (parents included), and the Apple treasure trove stays hidden for emergencies only.
Here are a few of our favorite airplane activities we don’t travel without. Keep it all a surprise and pack these goodies in their bags without the kids seeing them—they’re sure to be a hit!
