10 Spring Crockpot Recipes for a Cool Kitchen

Do you dig out and dust off your crockpot every fall in preparation for all the winter stews and soups you’ll be serving up? We understand the inclination to associate the slow cooker with hearty meat dishes and rich one-plate meals, but the indispensable kitchen machine is actually quite useful year round, not least of all in spring and summer.

After all, who wants to heat up the kitchen when it’s hot outside?  When roasting a chicken leads to full body perspiration, we draw the line. Yet, there’s no reason to give up some of our favorite foods and resort to serving cold soups and salads once the sun starts shining. You may need to rethink your slow cooker associations and revamp some of your recipes, but you’ll be so glad you did.

The ten recipes featured in the slideshow above provide ample spring flavors. Save time and energy and take the kids to the beach while the slow cooker slaves away on autopilot.
