Style Diary: Moms Test-Drive Stuart Weitzman’s 5050 Boot

Boots—as Nancy Sinatra fans know—are made for walking. But with such a vast selection of styles to choose from, it’s not so easy to find the perfect wear-all-day pair. Cue Stuart Weitzman’s 5050 boot. Chic and sleek enough to wear to work (it’d look great with a blazer) yet practical enough to run after the kids in, the 5050 seems to be the boot for any mom-on-the-go. We’re big fans here at Elizabeth Street, but of course we didn’t want you to just take our word for it. So we asked two moms to each take the style out for a test drive.

Editor Amy Tara Koch knows a thing or two about style. As a self-described “career fashion gal” and contributor to Town & Country magazine and The New York Times, Koch’s style know-how knows no bounds—she did after all, write a book about pregnancy style. “A slim cut, low-heeled over-the-knee boot like the Stuart Weitzman 5050 is manna for moms,” she says. “Not only can it be dressed up and down in a snap, but the micro heel makes it ideal for looking great and racing around to take care of your family.”

Elizabeth Thorp knows how to travel in style with the family in tow. As the founder Poshbrood, she helps other stylish moms figure out their vacation plans. The mom of three girls knows the value of a comfortable shoe while traveling. Here are her thoughts on the Stuart Weitzman’s 5050 boot:

“This iconic, flat-heeled boot has a stretch-fabric back giving this leather boot a snug—and ultra-comfy—fit while channeling your inner Angelina Jolie. These boots are sexy, functional, and walkable. Honestly, I could wear a bathrobe with these boots and feel put together and chic. I can’t wait to wear them on my next Poshbrood trip!”
