Three of those were wrong by a factor of two or three. One of them was an invented business. That is what this rewrite is for.

The audio dates come from the podcast feeds themselves rather than a directory. Before they stopped, both ran on a steady weekly cadence. They simply end.
One honest limitation. YouTube’s own pages are closed to automated reading, so we could not inspect the upload list directly. What we have instead is four independent signals pointing the same way: the two podcast feeds, a television database’s last-aired dates, Wikipedia’s note that as of early 2026 she is no longer posting, and a view rate of around 273,000 a day across a 1,436-video back catalogue, which is what a dormant channel looks like.
Several trackers still label both shows as continuing. Those labels are stale, and they are probably where the consensus that she is still running comes from.
The trademark that lapsed in February
Her business affairs run through two California companies, with marks moved between them in February 2025.

Two things stand out. The first is that a separate filing on her own name was abandoned on 9 February 2026, within weeks of the last uploads. Trademarks are not abandoned by accident, and the timing is the kind of thing a net worth page ought to notice.
The second is the cosmetics line.
There is no makeup brand, and the register shows it was dropped
A makeup artist of twelve years with eight million subscribers is exactly the person who would launch a cosmetics line, and plenty of pages say she did. She did not.
Both cosmetics trademark applications died the same way: abandoned for failure to file a Statement of Use after the application had been allowed. That is the specific failure mode of an intent-to-use filing where the product never reached the market. She registered the intention in 2020 and let it go in late 2024.
What actually exists are collaborations with other people’s brands. She curated an IPSY Glam Bag X in February 2023, and worked with Melt Cosmetics on a collection in December 2023 and a second in November 2024. Pages listing LORAC, MAC, Sephora, Urban Decay and Trixie Cosmetics as sponsors are confusing former employers with partnerships.
The $9.5 million figure, and what it actually measures
Forbes has never published a net worth for her. It has published earnings, which is a different thing.

Note that Forbes printed the identical figure two years running. That is either a genuine plateau or an estimate carried forward, and Forbes does not say which.
Either way, $9.5 million is one year’s gross earnings before tax, not accumulated wealth. The net worth figures in circulation run from $2.51 million to $12 million, and none names a source. The highest of them rests on a claim that she earned at least $10 million in 2023, a year for which Forbes published no figure for her at all.
The audience stopped growing before the uploads stopped

Roughly 500,000 subscribers in the twenty-one months from January 2025, about 6.7%. TikTok and Instagram have been flat at around three million each for the same period, and Instagram actually lost followers between July and August 2026.
The growth story the net worth pages are built on ended around 2024, well before the uploads did.
Two awards that may not exist
Her verified honours are solid. At the Streamy Awards in December 2021 she won Beauty, and Dark History won Podcast, with a further nomination for Show of the Year.
Two others are repeated widely and could not be confirmed. A 2025 Webby Award for Dark History appears only in coverage of a talent agency signing, and does not appear in the Webby Awards’ own winners records. A 2024 Signal Award for Best Host comes from a management company’s press release and could not be found at the award body either.
Both may be real. Neither has been confirmed by the organisation that supposedly gave it, and anyone repeating them is repeating a press release.
Who she is
Born 26 November 1988 in Los Angeles, where she still lives. She is of Armenian descent.
She was hired at Sephora at twenty and stayed five years, then moved to Urban Decay, worked freelance with brides and celebrity clients, and spent a period as a social media creator for the subscription service IPSY. By mid-2021 that was about twelve years of professional makeup work.
Her YouTube channel was created on 23 January 2013 and ran as a conventional tutorial channel averaging around ten thousand views a video. In January 2019 she posted the first Murder, Mystery and Makeup, prompted by a case from the year before. It did about sixty thousand views in a day, and the format she invented went on to be copied across the platform.

Unknown, and the usual answer is less useful here than usual, because the situation is changing.
What is solid: she earned $9.5 million in a recent year according to Forbes, twice. She holds live trademarks on Dark History and on her own name for clothing. She signed with two major agencies in 2025, which agencies do not do for people they expect to disappear. She has an eight million subscriber channel still pulling a quarter of a million views a day on its back catalogue alone, and that generates real money whether or not she uploads.
What is not solid: both shows have been silent for nine months, the cosmetics line was abandoned, there is no merchandise store, and one of her name trademarks lapsed in February.
A page printing $12 million and describing a thriving media empire is describing 2024. A page printing $2.51 million is using ad revenue estimates on a creator Forbes says earns multiples of that. Both are wrong, and the honest version is that this is a career in the middle of something, and nobody outside it knows what.
