Where to Stay
If you’re looking for something a bit different, check out the unabashedly hip Mama Shelter. For a classic (and very kid-friendly) Parisian experience, you can’t miss with the Plaza Athénée.
What to Eat
Pastries are a must on a trip to Paris! Our moms love the pastries at Carette, an elegant, art deco patisserie. But if you’d rather hang at the preferred spot of Picasso, Truman Capote, and Yves Saint Laurent, you’ll have to head to Café de Flore.
What to Do
You’ve probably already made plans to stop by the Louvre, but make sure you don’t miss the adjoining Musée des Arts Décoratifs, which focuses on movements within the world of decorative art and design. For some family fun outdoors, visit the Jardin d’Acclimatation, a fantastic resource for children that includes an amusement park, a zoo, and interactive playgrounds.
Where to Shop
Style-centric mamas should not miss an excursion to Zef, a fabulous boutique. For a fun shopping experience for the whole brood, visit the multi-floored concept store Colette. If the the kids are getting sick of touring stores, a little trip to Le Bonbon Au Palais will sweeten them right up.
Where to Get Away
As much as you may be enjoying your vacation in Paris, you might want to get out of the city for just one day—where to go? Paris-based Elizabeth Street mom Sandra Fixon suggests taking the train to Honfleur to find great restaurants and a bit of beach time. Elodie David Touboul prefers to escape to Versailles for a family visit to the palace there. Elodie Garamond, meanwhile, chooses Normandy for a chance to see horses and take a trip to the zoo.
