This independent bookstore in Brooklyn’s tree-lined Cobble Hill neighborhood is a reminder that a bit of New York literary culture is alive and well. There’s a plethora of staff picks—some belonging to authors themselves who happen to work there (i.e. Emma Straub)—plus reading groups, book events, and comfy chairs. “It’s a real community hub, and a great destination for the whole family,” says Jann Cheifitz, “On a freezing Sunday morning it’s the perfect stop-off after brunch and we all come home with something new to read.”
