In 1939, East River Park was born out of a once-active shipping yard. Today, its 57 acres boast football, baseball, and soccer fields, a running track, tennis and basketball courts, stellar views of the Brooklyn Bridge, and even a waterside spot for fishing! A striking ampitheater—erected following the 9/11 attacks—also draws in crowds from all over the city.
