The Best Deep Conditioner Treatment to Weather the Changing Seasons

As soon as the temperature starts to drop, it’s time to change up your haircare routine. During the summer, humidity in the air helps your hair retain moisture. Once it turns cold outside, it’s time to hydrate, and the best deep conditioner is one made with all-natural ingredients.

In fact, an easy and affordable DIY deep conditioner can be made with products you probably already have in your kitchen.

YouTube beauty guru Ingrid Nilsen uses a simple three-ingredient masque to stimulate hair growth, tame frizz, and increase moisture. Check out her recipe below:

Ingredients:
1 avocado
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tbsp honey

Directions:
1) Slice the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the fruit into a large bowl.
2) Mash the avocado into a paste, then add the oil and honey. Mix thoroughly.
3) Apply the masque to your hair, focusing on the ends. Let sit for 15-20 minutes.
4) Shampoo, condition, and style as usual.

Looking for a lighter treatment? Food Network television host Giada de Laurentiis swears by using coconut oil to hydrate dry ends.

“I like to put a little bit of coconut oil on the ends my hair, just on the tips because my hair goes through so much work,” she said. “Between the blow dryer, and the curling irons, and the flat irons every day, it’s a lot. So I do that on the ends, to keep them moisturized.”
