We’re just getting back in the swing of spring. We’ve acclimated to everything from the morning cacophony of chirping birds and strategically edging the kids away from the occasional bee that takes an interest in their Mister Softee, to spending late nights Googling allergy remedies. For better or worse, this season’s all about an outburst of flora and fauna, And, while we certainly love to stop and smell the roses, of all the plants and creatures that emerge when the temperature rises, butterflies might just be our favorites.
Everything about these spring flutter bugs—their mysterious transformation from caterpillar to insects of flight, those gorgeous scale-covered wings—captures our imaginations and those of our kiddos. Can you even count the number of times you’ve had to chase after them as they, in turn, pursued these fairy-like specimens?
