Contrary to what the weather on the East Coast would have us think, June is just around the corner. (Cue the faint tinkle of wedding bells.)
Not that we need the climate to remind us that love is in the air—social media is doing a fine job all on its own. This week, Jenny McCarthy’s massive canary yellow diamond engagement ring lit up our Instagram feeds. The View host announced her engagement on air this Wednesday, describing her hubby-to-be Donny Wahlberg’s heart-warming proposal (and how he got her 11-year-old son Evan involved).
“This weekend I was sitting with Donnie and he went into the other room and out came Evan with a card that said ‘Will.’ And he ran away and came back with a card that said ‘You,’ and I knew what was happening and I just started crying. And then he came out with a card that said ‘Marry,’ but it was spelled ‘Mary,’ and the last time Donnie came out with Evan and Evan’s shirt said ‘Me?’ and he was holding the ring. He asked, ‘Will you marry me?’ I of course said yes. And in that moment, Evan yelled, ‘I have another dad! I have another dad.’ And it was just—it made all of us cry,” McCarthy recalled, brimming with emotion. “I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. He’s so wonderful.”
Then there’s the fanfare over Kimye’s upcoming nuptials. As suspected, the couple will be married in France. “People are probably assuming we’re going to have this massive wedding and I think that it will be—but intimate,” Kim K told Vogue in her recent cover story. “Two hundred people—just all of our closest friends—a special night for us and all the people that really love us and that have supported us.”
Judging by how much time Kim Kardashian spent taking selfies with creative director Olivier Rousteing during her and Kanye’s recent jaunt to Paris, our money’s on a Balmain gown.
