Kids who like history will love the Museum of Coastal Defense. Built by British forces in 1887 as an active military fortification, the fort was also the site of World War II’s Battle for Hong Kong. Today kids can play hide and seek among the barracks, store rooms, and network of connecting passageways. A modern museum is attached with a permanent collection of artifacts relating to defense and Hong Kong’s military history. The museum also hosts educational programming with lectures, film screenings, and special activities for kids in the “kids’ corner.”
