Roald Dahl hits the West End
In Roald Dahl’s beloved children’s classic, Matilda, a genius little girl uses magic and the world of books to survive her horrible parents and her evil teacher, Miss Trunchbull. The story was adapted into an immensely popular film in 1996, which remains a childhood movie staple 16 years later.
Now, a whole new generation can experience the Matilda magic with the Royal Shakespeare Company’s musical adaptation, which transferred to London’s West End in November after a sold-out season at The Courtyard Theatre. With breathtaking set design and such eclectic songs as “When I Grow Up” and “ The Hammer,” parents and kids alike are sure to love this critically lauded musical.
And if you’re not a Londoner (and have no immediate plans for a visit), fear not…Broadway transfer confirmed!
