Do you know what stinks? Buying a package of parsley at the grocery store only to have half of it go to waste because you only needed a few sprigs for a recipe. I recently wised up and bought some potted herbs at the local plant nursery. Duh, right? Now I can clip only what I need and nothing goes to waste. Plus, cooking with fresh herbs is never a bad idea.
What surprised me is that growing an herb garden isn’t terribly difficult. If you don’t have the space to plant them in the ground, they do outstandingly well in containers. Planting them in pots not only makes it easy to check the soil conditions but it keeps the prolific growers contained.
