Inspired by the teachings of Swiss child development expert Jean Piaget, Winnie Young’s Discovery Learning Academy (DLA) fosters knowledge and fun through guided discovery. DLA classes range from speech therapy to “Mini Super Chef,” arts & crafts, and young performers. “Right now I’m helping the drama kids put on a nursery rhyme medley musical!” says Young. What’s more, a portion of all paid tuitions goes into the DLA fund, which enables the academy to offer programming to low-income families free of charge.
