Trammell and Margaret Crow began their expansive collection of Asian art in the mid-1960s, and after 56 years of marriage, they decided to preserve their collection in a museum open to the public, gifting the Crow Collection of Asian Art to Dallas. Today, the collection includes over 560 pieces of Asian art from China, Japan, India, and South Eastern Asia, and spans from 3500 B.C. to the early 20th century. Located in the Arts District of downtown Dallas, the museum’s serene environment allows visitors to reflect on the art, which includes Chinese jades, Buddhist sculptures, Japanese crystal spheres and screen paintings, and a baradari gazebo.
