If you thought the baby name North West was a doozy, get a load of this. Last night, Cougar Town actress Busy Philipps and hubby Marc Silverstein confirmed the name of their one-week-old baby girl—Cricket Pearl Silverstein. Amidst a flurry of mixed tweets about the unique moniker, the 34-year-old mother piped up on her Twitter account to defend her choice. “It’s weird people think my kids will be in therapy because of their names,” Philipps wrote. “Guys, my kids will be therapy for LOTS of reasons, I’m sure.”
Cricket Silverstein was born on July 2, weighing in at 8.5 pounds. Philipps announced the birth the following day, tweeting a blurry black-and-white photo of the newborn lying on her chest, with the caption, “So this happened…” Cricket joins four-year-old big sister Birdie (we’re sensing a theme here), who Philipps says is “really thrilled” with the new addition, reports US Weekly.
“I told her, though, that it’s okay to feel two ways about it,” she shared with the glossy. “It’s okay to feel really excited and also nervous or mad or scared. I don’t want her to think she has to be super happy about it all the time because I know it’s going to be…a big adjustment for her. We’ll see what happens when the actual baby comes. I’m planning for that moment when she asks, ‘When does she go back?'”
