OCCUPATION: Rock singer in band Demi Mondaine

MY STYLE: I wear high heels even at home. I like rock & roll elegance, which is always on the edge. I like python, leopard print, leather, and red lipstick and nail polish.

I LOVE PARIS BECAUSE: Paris is the most beautiful city in the world, with a good mix of people and different cultures. There are lots of cultural activities such as museums, cinema, science, theater, parks, the circus, music, and food!

Mama Shelter

With black walls, heavy drapes, and modern, cool décor, Mama Shelter is decidedly and unabashedly hip. Eclectic furnishings—think Hollywood masks turned bedside lamps—are counterbalanced with soft textures and an overall cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The dining room is home to our favorite brunch spot in the city. It’s a fun and relaxed atmosphere that’s great for kids—and serves delicious baked goods and strong coffee.

La Maroquinerie

This much-loved music venue, set in the heart of Belleville, hosts live touring bands and also many local acts. There’s also a restaurant with a delightful outdoor patio that serves fine fare. It’s the perfect spot for grabbing a drink and a bite to eat pre-concert.

Cirque d’Hiver Bouglione

This exciting and fun indoor circus was a favorite of ours when we were children—and remains a highlight for our kids today. Clowns, acrobats, and wild animals create a truly charming spectacle. The building, which was constructed during the reign of Napoleon III, has twenty sides and features bas-relief sculptures of Amazons by James Pradier. It was also the site of ample inspiration for French artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec.

Carette

We love the pastries at this elegant art deco patisserie at the Place du Trocadéro. With its candy-filled jars and cases of perfect pastel confections, we think Madame Carette, whose portrait hangs on the wall, would agree. We’re equally in love with Carette’s second location in the Place des Vosges!

Les Bains du Marais

This “temple to beauty” in the heart of the Marais has a full range of spa treatments, from scrubs and massages to pedicures. Our favorite way to spend time is just to linger in the extremely hot hammam sauna. We always leave refresed and feeling just a bit more beautiful. Another fantastic stop for a busy mom is the relaxation room. Swaddled in lush, velvet blankets, guests enjoy the silence as they relax and even drift off to sleep.
