The Best Art Books for Kids
Confession: We’re totally crazy about books. (As shown by our recent Black History Month best books for kids picks.)
And what’s even better than books? Books about art for children.
To satisfy our craving for both art and books, we’re heading to the Museum of Modern Art Design Store in New York on Saturday for an event in its popular Children’s Author Series. These family-friendly presentations by authors have exposed us to a range of new art-oriented books. Our latest obsession: New York Phew York by Amber C. Jones, a fine artist-turned-New York-hotel concierge-turned-children’s author. This scratch-and-sniff adventure is told through the eyes of a child discovering NYC through its odors. As they explore 19 different New York neighborhoods, kids scratch and sniff the smell of fresh bagels and pizza, as well as garbage and sewer steam.
