Boston Common and Public Garden

“Boston’s more pristine, miniature version of Central Park but without the pigeons, the Boston Common and Public Garden is a part of the famed Emerald Necklace, a string of public parks designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, who also designed Central Park,” says Anna Cheshire Levitan. The Boston Common was founded in 1634 as a public space for grazing cattle and was joined by the Public Gardens in 1837.
