Pasticceria Marchesi
One of Milan’s oldest bakeries, Marchesi offers delicious baked goods that have garnered quite a following over the years. Located in a charming and beautifully maintained 18th century building, the shop feels warm and welcoming. In addition to tempting pastries, there’s an extensive variety of gourmet chocolates, and delicious panettone that locals order weeks in advance during the holiday season.
Fioraio Bianchi Caffè
This small restaurant is housed in an old flower shop. Though crowded and pricey at dinner, Fioraio Bianchi is the hottest spot in the city for a Milanese-style happy hour. Arrive early! The deals (and locals) only last until 8 PM.
Galeria Nilufar
Blending classic historical sensibility with contemporary flair, Nilufar creates gorgeous carpets, furniture, lighting, and accessories for your home. The company, founded by two Italian sisters, has a simple but powerful manifesto: Discovering, Crossing, Creating.
Yogamood
Offering everything from Hatha to Vinyasa to yoga per bambini—yoga for children—Yogamood, with its bare walls and bright windows, allows a quick escape from the hustle and bustle right outside the centrally located studio’s door. For the private yogi, Yogamood offers personal, one-on-one classes with the teacher of your choice.
Wait and See
Wait and See is a luxury European women’s boutique for the masses that prides itself on a strict price range of €1 to €1,000. It carries everything from comfortable cotton sweaters to detailed gold jewelry to basic canvas flats and little knickknacks. Shoppers are encouraged to browse the products slowly, perusing with a “wait and see what strikes me” mentality.
