Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, has some words of encouragement for the weary press corps camped outside St. Mary’s hospital. According to the grandmother-to-be, Kate Middleton and Prince William expect the Royal baby’s arrival before the end of the week! Camilla let slip the news during a visit to Little Harbour children’s hospice in Porthpean, Cornwall, one stop on her and Prince Charles’ “Cornwall Week” tour.
In an impromptu speech to those gathered to honor the institution, the enthused Duchess confided: “We are all just waiting by the telephone. We are hopeful that by the end of the week her or she will be here.” Earlier this year, Kate Middleton herself revealed her due date was in “mid July” during a public walkabout, but Camilla’s finally narrowed down the dates. Especially since William and Kate’s private office at Kensington Palace is keeping mum about when exactly the Duchess is due, this is by far the most specific hint we’ve gotten so far. This news must come as somewhat of a relief to the press avidly and closely–emphasis on closely–watching Kensington Palace and St. Mary’s, where Kate hopes to have a natural birth. Who are we kidding…we’re all on the edges of our seats at this point. From your mouth to God’s ears, Camilla!
